When Opportunity Knocks
“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know”
June 2018
The last few months have been a bit chaotic. Between the busyness of the holidays and the added decision we made to sell our home and buy a new one, nothing feels quite right — just yet.
It’s amazing what get’s stirred up when there’s transition buzzing around in the atmosphere, especially for a blended family.
Summer 2020
After weeks and weeks of going through our things to determine what’s worthy of keeping, every emotion has surfaced all the while being seen and felt.
February 2026—last shot of the youngest four in the old house
It’s hard to say goodbye to a place that has so many great memories. A place that gave space for wounded hearts to mend and new relationships to form.
There’s also been plenty of hopeful anticipation to help soften the reality that we’re letting go of a season we all loved very much.
We will be handing the keys over to the new owners of Timberland Drive and when we do, we’ll fully step into our new season.
The pages in our storybook are turning and we’re already imagining ways to bring bits and pieces of the old along with us for the journey ahead.
The first sunrise in our new home
We’re certain we’ll hold grandbabies here, wave goodbye again-and-again to someone whose leaving for college, and continue to find our way to the front porch for some reminiscing of another treasured weekend we had together.
How about you. Is opportunity knocking at your door too? If so, can I pray for you?
“Jesus—please be with anyone who is facing a new opportunity with you. Give them the strength they need to balance the old and the new.
Thank you for always leading the way.
In Jesus Name
Amen”
