I saw her today

Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers. Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.
— Titus 2:3-5

I see her everywhere these days. And when I do, I just smile and reminisce.

In fact I saw her today during my lunch break when I had to make a quick—and I mean quick—pit stop at Kohl's to return an Amazon package.

There she was, holding her little girl's hand. Dressed super cute and spunky, she was clearly an at-home mom looking for an afternoon outing with her sweet daughter, likely just to break up their day before naptime.

Oh how I remember those days.

It's an era of my life that has passed, and one I will cherish for all my days.

I know it'd be weird so I won't, but if I could, I'd love to whisper a few things in her ear.

I'd love to tell her to be sure to enjoy her day to its fullest. I'd tell her not to worry about that bill waiting for her at home or the list of things she still needs to do yet that day.

I'd tell her she's doing a great job. And I'd tell her that her career will come when the time is right. I'd tell her that some days for deeper self discovery are just ahead, but when they come, her babies will be grown.

If she were still listening, I'd be sure to leave her with these words.

You're going to miss this era so much, so hold on tight while you can. <3
