My favorite hat
If you were to get your hands on my senior yearbook, you’d see underneath my name that my aspirations after high school were to become a wife and mother, a simple dream that felt like the most natural next step at the time.
I wasn’t sure about much at that age, but I did know with quite confidence that I wanted those two things more than anything.
“Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth”
Albeit a rocky start for sure — becoming a mama at just nineteen years old — I wouldn’t trade the hard lessons I’ve learned along the way for anything in the world, because they’ve helped me become the mother I am for them today.
Motherhood is constant, even as life’s seasons change.
The older I get, the more I cherish this role and the opportunity it provides to love my people well. From little boys-to grown men-to bonus girls-to daughter-in-luvs, I am so blessed to wear the hat of motherhood.
